We walked from turquoise Porthcurno,
Side by side, hip by hip
In the warm, lavender breeze,
Then sat and watched the swallows dance.
We stood above the towering silent cliffs
And the solemn, surging swell.
Captivated in an eternal,
Tireless, timeless trance.
We watched in silent awe,
At the Brison's crimson sunset.
The ball of fire dripping its molten dew,
Across sea and land.
Its life fading,
Sinking from sight in all finality.
As I was, before you reached out,
And took my trembling hand.
